Generation Gap

See the culture surrounding us all
Our parents' generation is making us fall
Tales of redemption and little white lies
All fall in place-covers our eyes

They don' want rebellious or ill-mannered kids
Keeping the secrets and scandals all hid
The poverty, in abundance, gets worse by the day
Each second their generation is making us pay

You see the resilience masked by the hate
See the world you've made us create

So many homeless, so many dead
We're the ones to blame, fucked up in the head
What happened to the era of peace, happiness, and love?
Our parent's ended that-goodbye little dove

Just because we're rebels; because we speak our mind
Is that such a reason to leave us behind?
Just because we've revealed the ugly but true
They're going to blame us-that's what they do

You see the resilience masked by the hate
See the world you've made us create

They had it bad, grew up during war
Have they not noticed the sights through the door?
War against terrorism-New York City's a mess
The world trade centers are gone-we need not say the rest

We're going backwards-now we're at Vietnam
Yet we're the ones who are doing it wrong
We shouldn't be at war -we shouldn't be in debt
We're the future of America- that you mustn't forget

You see the resilience masked by the hate
See the world you've made us create

Our country has learned nothing-but to point fingers and blame
The fate of their people-this isn't a game
Laid back and rude; rebellious and wild
Our country will go nowhere, if you always blame the child

Good ol' America, U.S of A
What will you do, when tomorrow's today?
What will you do when the truth is unmasked?
Our generation prevails-you fall on your ass.
